For 14 years, DDM felt like he was in a loving, stable marriage. Then, in November of 2014 he discovered his wife was having an affair. “I did not want our marriage to end, even after I found out my wife was in love with someone else. I wanted to work it out and to go to counseling, but she would not discuss counseling. She wanted to be with another man.”
DDM believes she had it in her mind to divorce for about a year before they actually did. “I wanted to work out any issues,” he shares, noting, “I wish we had stayed married. Today, we are still friends and I do believe she regrets ending our marriage like she did. She seems to be doing well, but I think she also feels unsettled since the divorce.”
In the years since his divorce in June of 2016, DDM says he has dated, “but I have never felt settled. I miss being married and do not care for dating. I am not happier today than I was when we were together.”
Would he like to marry again? “Yes, if everything looked even happier and more perfect than what I had in my previously relationship. What I learned during my marriage was keep communication wide open — 100%of the time.”
